Dear family and friends,
Please join me in supporting children with cancer and their families by shaving bald for Hair for Hope 2011!
This year, Children's Cancer Foundation (CCF) will be staging Hair for Hope 2011 on 23rd and 24th July at VivoCity Central Court. Into its 9th consecutive year, Hair for Hope 2011 aims to garner at least 3,000 shavees and raise at least S$1.8 million to help children with cancer and their families.
Through this symbolic gesture, Children's Cancer Foundation aims to:
- Create awareness of children cancer in Singapore
- Show children with cancer and their families that they are not alone in their fight against cancer
- Tell children with cancer that it is OK to be bald
- Raise funds to help children with cancer and their families
- Build a community of support for children with cancer and their families
In a year, CCD helps more than 550 children and their families who are at different stages of the illness by raising an annual of S$3.5m to fund all its free services. Donations received will ensure critical and holistic services are offered to CCF beneficiaries.
beside shaving bald, you can do your part by pledging a donation to CCF in support of my shaving. HAIR FOR HOPE 2011 MAIN EVENT Into its 9th consecutive year, Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) is organizing Hair for Hope (HfH) on 23rd and 24th July 2011 (Saturday and Sunday), from 11 am to 7 pm (on Saturday) and 1pm to 6 pm (on Sunday) at VivoCity. Through this symbolic gesture, we aim to: HfH is the only head-shaving event in Singapore that serves to raise funds and awareness of childhood cancer. Every shaven head represents an understanding by an individual of the ordeals that a child with cancer is subjected to. This year, we hope to encourage at least 3,000 participants to join our cause, with a target to raise at least S$1.8 million to aid children with cancer and their families. All funds raised will contribute to the overall annual $3.5 million needed to continue providing critical programmes and services to assist our children with cancer and their families. In addition, a total of 20 satellite shaving events would be organized in the months of June to August 2011 in various corporate offices and schools of CCF’s partners. |
